How do I choose the right colors for my project?
Use our color selector - for the Faux Grasscloth finish.

How do I determine how much paint or glaze I will need?
Determining the amount of glaze or paint you will need is easy. Measure the distance around the room and multiply by the height from the baseboard to the ceiling. Next, subtract the total area of doors and windows. Assume about 21 square feet for each door and 15 square feet for each window. Ceiling area is the length of the room times the width of the room. Next, divide the wall area by the number of square feet one gallon of your paint will cover. This is usually around 400 square feet. This tells you the number of gallons required for one coat. The same calculation can be used to determine the amount of trim paint and ceiling paint you will need.

Can I do other finishes besides Faux Grass Cloth?
Absolutely, when you buy our kit, instructions are included for creating other combed finishes such as Faux Linen Fabric and a Faux Corduroy.  For a Faux Fresco, use the optional 3 color tray and your paint pad to apply 3 paint colors to the surface. Colors that are close together in value and hue will work to give you a subtle finish. If you use a Pearlescent Glaze as one of your colors it will add a glow of pearlescent shimmer to you finished product. You can also do Faux Venetian Plaster with our optional Smoother Blade.
